Take a deep dive into the current Hayward Gallery exhibition, and produce your own creative response

Hayward Download is a downloadable resource for teachers, educators and families looking for a deeper dive into the themes of our summer 2024 Hayward Gallery exhibition.

The first mid-career survey of Bahamian- born artist Tavares Strachan, came to the Hayward Gallery summer 2024. His exhibition, There is Light Somewhere, celebrates unsung heroes and cultural trailblazers while illuminating histories hidden by bias.

This resource supports teachers to take a deeper dive into the themes of Strachan’s work, in particular The Encyclopedia of Invisibility which includes over 17,000 entries of historically marginalised people, places and events. The resource includes creative ideas and activities for teachers to use in the classroom, and supports students’ critical thinking around the themes of bias and race.
