Chaka Khan, let her rock you, let her rock you, Chaka Khan.

The 29th edition of Meltdown edges ever closer to our stages as curator Chaka Khan has confirmed the first collection of artists that will be rocking you this summer as part of her festival.

Joining us in June will be the unstoppable Todrick Hall; multi award-winner Emeli Sandé; global star Bruce Hornsby; multi-genre legends War; Brixton’s Speakers Corner Quartet; prodigious acid jazz group Incognito; old-school soul singer Lady Blackbird; trip hop duo Morcheeba; R&B singers Rahsaan Patterson, Mica Paris, Judi Jackson; indie crossover artist Master Peace; Black feminist punk band Big Joanie; the emphatic House Gospel Choir; star collaborator Reuben James; subtle yet soulful singers Anaiis and Sipho, and bringing joyous sounds from Africa, Malian supergroup and Les Amazones d'Afrique and West African ensemble Balimaya Project.

We're also set for some joyous late night club nights during the festival courtesy of the legendary Norman Jay, techno powerhouse Adonis, Queer Bruk and friends including Amorphous, and female and non-binary jam night Penge Femme Jam.

It's an honour to share with you some of the brilliant artists that will be celebrating the diversity and legacy of Meltdown! We are all family. Get ready to sing, dance, and feel the love!’

Chaka Khan

To get you in the mood for a summer of soulful sounds on the South Bank we’ve put together this playlist of the acts appearing at our 29th Meltdown so far. From Mica Paris to Morcheeba; Balimaya Project to Bruce Hornsby; Lady Blackbird to Big Joanie, it’s a solid four hours and 24 minutes of moving music from the rich selection of artists added to our Meltdown role-call.

So tune out from the wider world for a bit, turn up your headphones and lose yourself in this highly pleasing playlist.
