Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement 2021

Southbank Centre welcomes the opportunity to set out the steps that we have taken, and that we will take, to tackle modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and own operations. 

This is our third Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement to be posted on our website. 

Since our last statement, published in 2020, Southbank Centre has: 

• continued its risk based review of all of our key supply chains, including those third party companies providing merchandise, catering, security, cleaning, maintenance, information technology and building services to Southbank Centre. We will continue this review over the next 12 months as necessary; 
• continued to incorporate approved standard terms when contracting with new contractors and suppliers where deemed necessary requiring them to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015; not to engage in any activity, practice or conduct which would give rise to an offence under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, including if such activity, practice or conduct were carried out in the UK; and to make the same requirements of their own sub-contractors; 
• continued to assess the responses from significant suppliers, particularly those operating in areas identified as high risk, who have not published a modern slavery statement. We will review this work again over the next 12 months in order to assess whether our existing due diligence should be refreshed and/or new due diligence on new suppliers be undertaken; 
• approved and published its Anti-Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy, which has been disseminated throughout our organisation. We will continue to make all staff (including new staff) aware of the Policy; and 
• continued to develop our plans to implement a training programme for all staff. When implemented, this training will not only further implement and promote our Anti-Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy throughout Southbank Centre, but will also provide our staff with training on the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and how to identify and tackle Modern Slavery. 

We will continue to monitor these steps and each year will formally review them to see where they can and should be adapted and developed.
