The Andrew Bird Trio

Tue 19 Nov 2024, 7.30pm

The Andrew Bird Trio perform their debut release, Sunday Morning Put-On, a tribute to mid-century, small group jazz, featuring favourite jazz standards.

Internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, whistler and songwriter Andrew Bird is joined by drummer Ted Poor and bassist Alan Hampton to form The Andrew Bird Trio.

The trio’s debut release, Sunday Morning Put-On features standards by Duke Ellington (‘Caravan’), Cole Porter (‘You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To’) and more.

Sunday Morning Put-On closes with its lone original song, ‘Ballon de peut-être’. Additional contributors to the new album include guitarist Jeff Parker and pianist Larry Goldings.
