Krystal S. Lowe: New Growth
Run away with dancer and choreographer Krystal S. Lowe to rediscover what’s been lost in the course of growing up – and what’s been gained.
New Growth is an excerpt of Interwoven, a joyful, dynamic, and insightful show about one woman’s realisation that over the course of life, she’s changed. Hair is in places it wasn’t, love has been lost, people have died; everything has changed.
So she runs away to find who she used to be and discovers a swing set that looks like the one she used to play on as a child.
She explores the swingset in the hopes it will unlock her past and give her a way to gain all she’s lost by growing up. It’s only through her desperate attempt at returning to what was that she finds love and peace in the version of herself that currently exists.
Dancer and choreographer Krystal S. Lowe performs this one-woman show using a single swing set as the centrepiece for movement inspired by contemporary ballet and contemporary circus trapeze.
Krystal S. Lowe is a Bermuda-born, Wales-based dancer, choreographer, writer, and director performing and creating dance theatre works that explore themes of intersectional identity, mental health and wellbeing, and empowerment to challenge herself and audiences toward introspection and social change.
