Guy Garvey's Meltdown

In June 2016, Guy Garvey joined a pantheon of renowned festival directors including Jarvis Cocker, Patti Smith, David Bowie, Yoko Ono, Ornette Coleman and David Byrne.

The brilliant line-up included Robert Plant, Femi Kuti, Laura Marling, I Am Kloot, Nadine Shah, The Staves, Connan Mockasin, Lift To Experience, This Is The Kit, Nick Mulvey, K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade, Guy Garvey, and more. There was a day dedicated to the refugee crisis, including a special concert on the Thames called The Boat We're In.

Much like my work on TV and radio I see this as the perfect opportunity to shine a light on some amazing new talent while recognising and celebrating the artists that have had an influence on the new sounds of today. Beyond that I want my Meltdown to be a party where everyone feels invited and everyone leaves having had the best night out.
