And Other Stories Book Club: Hanne Ørstavik
Join Norwegian author Hanne Ørstavik for a special And Other Stories Book Club, as she celebrates the release of her new novel, Stay with Me.
Hanne Ørstavik first brought chills to her readers with her international bestseller Love, published in an English translation by And Other Stories in 2019, in which a disaffected and lonely young mother and her bewildered nine-year-old son Jon cross each other’s paths one long winter night.
In her next book, the moving and radically honest Ti Amo, a writer comes to terms with the imminent death of her beloved husband.
In her new novel, Stay with Me, Ørstavik returns to her theme of love, this time exploring how it can be intertwined with insecurity, fear and violence. How do you recognise love if fear is the feeling you know?
An unconditional searching for self and truth electrifies this novel about finding out who the one you love really is, and who you really are.
