Alexis Ffrench

Fri 7 Feb 2025, 7.30pm

Alexis Ffrench, the superstar composer, pianist and pioneer of classical soul, shares his new album of soul-infused compositions that draw on his own memories.

Rather than holding onto traditional understandings of classical music, Ffrench draws on a mosaic of influences to create music that takes the listener on a journey through a world of possibility.

With his original sound, he refuses to be penned in by genre, time period or expectations of the kind of musician he should be.

His new album, Classical Soul Volume One, is a collection of original compositions for piano and orchestra, interspersed with snippets of beloved soul anthems, including ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ and ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’, which pull the audience into half-remembered moments from his childhood and his West Indian household.

Ffrench has amassed over one billion streams on his catalogue, and performed at the King Charles III’s Coronation Concert to an audience of over 18 million viewers.
