Matthew Herbert & Anna Meredith in Conversation

Part of Classical music

London Sinfonietta’s new digital channel features podcast The Music That Made Me: hear it live, with guests Matthew Herbert and Anna Meredith.

In January 2020, the orchestra launches a dedicated platform to present new curated music content and online concerts. It features The Music That Made Me, a series exploring six key pieces of music that have influenced and inspired composers and artists.

This second launch event is an evening of discussion and listening hosted by cellist Zoe Martlew.

Within the intimate space of music-lovers café Spiritland at Royal Festival Hall, this live recording includes extracts from the artist’s selection of key pieces played on the venue’s extraordinary sound system.

Composer, artist, producer and writer Matthew Herbert has produced more than 30 albums, scores for Oscar-winning films (A Fantastic Woman) and music for the National Theatre, Broadway, TV series, games and radio.

Anna Meredith’s music has been performed everywhere from the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms to campaigns for Prada and Apple.

Her other projects have included orchestral arrangements for Laura Marling, The Stranglers, the David Bowie prom and Sigur Rós, and the highly regarded film score for Sundance award-winning Eighth Grade.

Her music was also recently heard on the soundtrack of Netflix’s show Living with Myself, starring Paul Rudd and Aisling Bea.
