Part of Purcell Sessions

This event has been cancelled as we are currently closed due to the coronavirus crisis.

Drawing influences from across the globe, this five-piece jazz ensemble is the brainchild of saxophonist Tamar Osborn.

The project grew from her wish to simply write the music that wanted to be written, rather than focusing on a particular audience or context.

Creating transportive modal music, the ensemble is influenced by jazz, Afrobeat, Indian classical, Ethiopian roots, polyphonic choral music and minimalism.

As a support to the main show, band leader Tamar Osborn spends time in Purcell Room experimenting with Magnus P.I, a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer best known for his work as a percussionist.
