Ping, whoosh, kapow: there’s a poem going off so get ready for some fireworks with poems for children and families.

Rachel Rooney is a teacher and poet. Her first collection The Language of Cat was awarded the CLPE Award and was long-listed for the Carnegie Medal. Her following collections My Life as a Goldfish and A Kid in My Class were both shortlisted for the CLiPPA Award. She has judged both the CLiPPA and the Betjeman Poetry Prize, performed at festivals and works with schools hosting workshops and talks.

Joshua Seigal is a poet, performer and educator, who uses poetry to develop literacy skills and inspire confidence and creativity in communication. Siegal works across schools, nurseries, libraries, theatres and festivals alongside published pieces of work.

Valerie Bloom MBE is a poet and author for children and adults. Bloom has presented poetry programmes for the BBC and been featured in Poems on the Underground. Bloom performs poetry, runs writing workshops and conducts training courses for teachers worldwide. Work of Bloom’s includes Let Me Touch the Sky, Hot Like Fire, Whoop an’ Shout<.em> and Surprising Joy.
