Götterdämmerung 2021

Part of Wagner’s Ring Cycle 2021

One world ends and another dawns in the final opera of the Ring Cycle, concluding London Philharmonic Orchestra's complete performance of Wagner’s epic work.

Götterdämmerung (The Twilight of the Gods) sees the ultimate triumph of love over evil.

The hero Siegfried is killed; his beloved Brünnhilde sacrifices herself to free the ring of its curse; and Valhalla bursts into flames, signalling the end of the reign of the gods.

In this final opera of the Ring tetralogy, Wagner’s music itself tells of destruction as well as redemption through love.
