Celeste Ng in Conversation

In a London exclusive, hear from Celeste Ng, the award-winning and bestselling author of Everything I Never Told You and Little Fires Everywhere.

In her first London appearance to discuss her acclaimed novels, Ng reflects on creating compelling characters and the real world that her fiction reflects.

Applauded for their acutely observed and compelling portraits of modern American life, Celeste Ng’s novels have both received critical acclaim and become international bestsellers.

With deft psychological insight and breathtaking precision, Ng lays bare the tensions that run beneath the surface of contemporary life, tackling themes of identity, motherhood, race and class.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1980 to parents from Hong Kong, Ng studied English at Harvard University, followed by a masters in creative writing at the University of Michigan. Her debut novel, Everything I Never Told You, won the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature, the American Library Association’s Alex Award and was selected as Amazon’s Book of the Year; it has since been optioned for the big screen.

Her second novel, Little Fires Everywhere, was a New York Times bestseller and is being adapted for television by Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine. Ng is also a recipient of the Pushcart Prize and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Ng is signing copies of her books after the event.
