Calexico and Iron & Wine + Lisa O'Neill

Part of EFG London Jazz Festival

Be there as Americana indie rockers Calexico and folk singer-songwriter Iron & Wine play from their first full-length collaborative album, Years to Burn.

Iron & Wine is Sam Beam, who sings and performs on multiple instruments including guitar, banjo and piano. Arizona-based Calexico is founder Joey Burns, who sings and plays instruments including guitar, bass, cello and accordion, and John Convertino on drums.

Following their groundbreaking and critically acclaimed collaborative EP In the Reins in 2005, Pitchfork praised singer-songwriters Sam Beam and Joey Burns’ meeting of musical minds, commenting on their ‘heavenly harmonizing with each other – those hushed, gently melodic cords singing in unison make magic.’

Opening the show is singer-songwriter Lisa O'Neill, who mixes traditional music with her own compositions. O'Neill’s latest album was given five stars by The Guardian, who described it as 'uncompromising, stunning, soul-shaking stuff'.
