Playing the zither-like traditional Korean gayageum, Kyungso Park and her new band break down the borders between traditional and contemporary music.
In SB Circle, Park collaborates with fellow musicians Seo Young-do (bass), Christian Moran (drums) and Shin Hyunpil (saxophone, keys) in a myriad of folk, improvisation and filmic music.
With their different musical backgrounds, their paths now flow and meld in debut release Topology.
Opening the night, gayageum trio Hey String explore possibilities beyond the limitation of their instruments.
With delicate touch, trembling strings, percussive execution and dynamic synchronicity, they encourage spectators to float in their soundscapes.
