Virginia Wing with Deep Throat Choir and Mich Cota

The duo perform dreamy synth-pop from acclaimed latest album Ecstatic Arrow with friends, including Deep Throat Choir and the hotly tipped Mich Cota. This collaborative performance, also featuring sound artist Rachael Finney, dancer Maria Malone and audio-visual artist Sam Wiehl, explores the physical and the digital body, as well as themes surrounding gender, space, reality and perception.

Virginia Wing is Alice Merida Richards, whose languid voice has invited comparisons to Stereolab’s Lætitia Sadier and Broadcast’s Trish Keenan, with synth and sampler from Sam Pillay and Chris Duffin on saxophone.

Recorded in Switzerland at the home of longtime collaborator Misha Hering, Virginia Wing’s third album unites solemn introspection with joy, layering resplendent avant-garde backdrops with biting lyrics delivered in Richards’ trademark vocals.

Virginia Wing make music that triangulates leftfield jazz, ashram-dwelling new age, and warm synth-pop into something that feels calm and centred
