Dweezil Zappa: Hot Rats Live

Grab the chance to hear Frank Zappa’s son perform the father of invention’s entire Hot Rats album in sequence live on stage.

Dweezil Zappa has long undertaken a mission to re-acquaint the world with the sights and sounds of his infamous father.

He is joined on stage by a talented group of musicians who revive Frank’s music in a fresh context, while staying true to his unique and impeccable sonic heritage.

Hot Rats played a pivotal role in establishing Frank as a composer and guitarist. The album was dedicated to the new-born Dweezil upon its release in 1969.

Here, the 50-year-old classic album is surrounded by an assortment of other psychedelic, avant-garde, odd-metered toe-tappers well known to Zappa aficionados as well as being equally exciting for music fans new to his music.

Just over 51 years after Frank’s band The Mothers of Invention recorded live album Ahead of Their Time in Royal Festival Hall, his son Dweezil brings his father’s music to life on the same stage.

As well as forging a music career in his own right, Dweezil has performed Frank’s music at venues across the world with a virtuoso band of musicians since 2006.

In 2009, they won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for their version of ‘Peaches en Regalia’.
