Goran Bregovic

Hear musical traditions brought together to create a whole at this performance of Goran Bregovic's latest album, Three Letters from Sarajevo.

The album is inspired by the Christian, Jewish and Muslim religions and the different styles of playing the violin in each – classical, klezmer and oriental. Three Letters from Sarajevo sends a message of peace, understanding and appreciation of differences, and brought together artists including Bebe, Riff Cohen, Rachid Taha and Asaf Avidan.

While Bregovic's previous record Champagne for Gypsies celebrated the contribution of minorities to international culture, his new album finds its inspiration in his hometown – representing the cultural and religious diversity of Sarajevo in a musical form.
