The Parkhouse Award Presents Lux Trio

Part of Classical Season 2019/20

Hear stunning performances of piano trio repertoire from the Lux Trio, the latest ensemble to win the biennial Parkhouse Award.

The Trio was formed in 2014 in Berlin by pianist Eunyoo An, violinist Jae Hyeong Lee and cellist Hoon Sun Chae. Since 2016, they have worked intensively with Dirk Mommertz (Fauré Piano Quartett) and Christoph Poppen at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.

They have performed all over the world and received an array of awards including the first prize at Gasteig Musikpreis competition in Munich, the Alice-Samter-Stiftung Kammermusikwettbewerb in Berlin, and the Artsylvia Foundation chamber music audition in South Korea.

The Trio’s first album on the Korean label O' New World Music was released in 2018.

The Parkhouse Award was set up to commemorate the life and work of the distinguished chamber pianist David Parkhouse, who was a founder member of the Music Group of London with his wife, cellist Eileen Croxford, and violinist Hugh Bean.

The Parkhouse Award provides support to enable one young ensemble to achieve the best possible start to its career.

Past luminaries include first-ever prizewinners the Grieg Trio (1991, Norway), the Fauré Quartett (2003, Germany), the Amatis Piano Trio (2015, Netherlands) and Trio Sora (2017, France).
