Bill Laurance + Ashley Henry

Immerse yourself in a hypnotic jazz-fusion sound-world at a live performance by keyboardist and Snarky Puppy member Bill Laurance.

‘It’s a personal exploration. I'm discovering my own voice, my own sound all the time,’ Laurance says. ‘I get a kick out of that journey.’

That journey has led Laurance across the globe and through a myriad of award-winning musical projects. A three-times Grammy winner, world-renowned multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer, dubbed a ‘jazz maestro’ by The Guardian, Laurance is also part of the phenomenon that is jazz and funk collective Snarky Puppy.

Talented pianist Ashley Henry opens the show. Ashley Henry is one of a new generation of musicians raised with a wide range of influences. Bringing jazz, beats and hip-hop into his work, he has supported the likes of Marcus Miller and Christine and the Queens, and presented a headline show at Rich Mix last year.

Recent years have seen Laurance exploring his first love, the piano, with the recording of a solo album entitled Cables, released spring 2019. The album puts his focus on the piano and electronics in a further exploration of the space where classical and jazz meet.
