Friday Lunch: Elsa Hewitt

Part of Friday Lunch

The producer and songwriter performs otherworldly music that blends hazy, textural ambience, poetic, bluesy songwriting and spoken word.

Hewitt creates avant-garde electronic music using mainly guitar, voice, synthesiser and field recordings to create a distinctive sound, merging currents of lo-fi house, future garage, dub-techno, experimental techno and hip-hop.

Hewitt’s newest album Citrus Paradisi is released on 1 March 2019. She has been recognised by PRS Foundation's Lynsey de Paul Prize, resulting in 2017’s Becoming Real Trilogy, and Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Future Bubblers 2.0. She has commissioned work for the Open Music Archive and The Jazz Cafe.
