Friday Lunch: The Burning Glass

Part of Friday Lunch

Feel the fierce energy, lilting layers of vocals and sparks of lyrical wit from four-piece band The Burning Glass, who share true stories through music.

The band’s acoustic landscape is made up of guitar, double bass, tuned percussion ukulele and drums. Edwin Brooks, a songwriter and organic grower and his cousin Kizzy Brooks, a professional orchestral percussionist formed, are joined by acclaimed vocalist and double bassist Nina Harries and Joseph Trudgeon, a rapidly emerging talent in the UK jazz and swing scene.

Recently released album Happiness Is Egg Shaped enlarges on their first album's themes of family, love and belonging, with bonus helpings of cookery-based ranting and wildlife-conservation-themed classic rock.
