Troika Klezmer

Experience a rip-roaring musical odyssey, with music from Yiddish Odessa to Cossack Russia and 1930s Paris.

Troika are proud to present the first performance of Kol Nidrei, the powerful cello concerto by Max Bruch, in their abridged arrangement for double bass. The piece will be performed by arranger and soloist David Luvin.

The innovative and charismatic musicians present a programme ranging from their Yiddish and Russian repertoire, allied to the music of Django Reinhardt. They will also be presenting the debut performance of Wallace Fields' Odessa O5, a filmic composition on the abortive Russian Revolution of 1905.

The band is led by Wallace Fields on the piano, with Owen Bryce on trumpet and cornet, Gero Pitanza on lead guitar, Matthew Heery on mandolin and rhythm guitar, and David Luvin on double bass.
