Maurizio Pollini

Part of International Piano Series

This event has been cancelled as we are currently closed due to the coronavirus crisis.

Maurizio Pollini announces his programme which has at its core Beethoven’s mighty Hammerklavier Sonata.

Pollini has had a strong connection with Beethoven’s sonatas during his long career and performed all 32 for the International Piano Series back in 1997.

In the first half Pollini pitches the romantic against the avant-garde – Brahms’ exquisite Intermezzi are adjacent to Schoenberg’s intimate piano works which have become classics in their own right.

His eagerly anticipated Royal Festival Hall recitals are regularly a highlight of the season.
