Rowland Sutherland: The Pentagle's Basket of Light

Part of EFG London Jazz Festival

‘Time passes all too soon, how it rushes by’ – the UK flautist and jazz/classical arranger presents his jazz interpretation of the 1969 folk album.

Marking 50 years since the release of The Pentagle’s iconic album, Rowland Sutherland brings together a group of top UK jazz players to realise his vision for Basket of Light’s potent fusion of jazz and folk.

Sutherland performs and guests in new music ensembles, jazz groups, symphony orchestras, various non-Western groups, pop outfits and as a soloist. He has composed and arranged music for bands, large ensembles and the BBC.

Artists that Sutherland has worked with include Orphy Robinson, Joss Stone and Colin Currie Group.
