Mitsuko Uchida: Schubert Sonatas

Part of International Piano Series

The second of this season’s recitals in Mitsuko Uchida’s Schubert Sonata survey.

Opening with the elegant early A minor sonata, D.537 the programme continues with Sonata in C, D.840 – a stylistically pioneering work that the composer left unfinished.

Uchida completes her journey through Schubert’s Sonatas with his final composition in the genre – the great B flat major Sonata, D.960 – his greatest composition for the piano and a masterpiece in its own right.
