Why Beethoven Threw the Stew

Part of Classical Season 2019/20

As the world celebrates his 250th birthday, the LPO introduces your family to one of the most brilliant composers in the history of music.

Hear some of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s most famous orchestral pieces and discover the real man behind the music.

Why was he so grumpy? Why did he rarely have a bath? How did he overcome being deaf? And most importantly, why should you never serve him stew?

Inspired by the book of the same name by cellist Steven Isserlis.
