venue

Purcell Room

Purcell Room is an intimate, 295 seat venue for music and performance, screenings, poetry readings and a variety of talks and debates.

While providing a platform for the best new and emerging talent from a range of artforms, the world-renowned venue has also played host to some of the biggest names of the 20th century and beyond, including David Bowie, Daniel Barenboim, Marianne Faithfull and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood.

The auditorium is also home to Purcell Sessions – a series of gigs allowing artists the opportunity to work on new material or conceive collaborations live in front of an audience.

Purcell Room and Queen Elizabeth Hall reopened in April 2018 following almost three years of refurbishment to improve facilities and acoustics.
