Waltham Forest Poetry Competition

The Waltham Forest Poetry Competition is now open for submissions from poets worldwide.

Entrants are welcome to submit up to six previously unpublished poems on the theme of ‘Friendship’. Poems must be 40 lines max, not including the title.

There are Adult and Young Poet prizes, plus separate Waltham Forest local prizes for people who live, work, or study in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

Winners of the Adult prize will receive a cash prize of £100 (3rd), £200 (2nd), and £400 (1st).

Winners of the Young Poet prize will receive a cash prize of £20 (3rd), £30 (2nd), and £50 (1st).

A Waltham Forest Prize (sponsored by The Stow Brothers) entails cash prizes of £20 (3rd), £30 (2nd), and £50 (1st).

There will also be a prize awarded to the funniest poem.
