Auditorium doors open 30 minutes before the event start time


Queen Elizabeth Hall & Purcell Room

Opening times: 10am – 11pm every day

Entry to our foyers is free, and you are welcome to come in with or without a ticket


Hayward Gallery & Cafe

Opening times : 11am – 7pm every day except Tuesdays. Late night openings on Thursday until 9pm

The cafe is not open when the main galleries are closed for installation


National Poetry Library

Opening times: 11am – 8pm, Tuesday to Sunday

Bicycle parking is located in Southbank Centre Square, off Belvedere Road

There are cycle hire stands on Concert Hall Approach, over the road from Southbank Centre Square

by river

Join the Circular Cruise service between Westminster – St Katharine's and alight at Festival Pier

Or, take the River Bus RB1 or RB1X route and alight at London Eye Pier

There are four Blue Badge parking spaces located on the Queen Elizabeth Hall slip road off Belvedere Road (between Royal Festival Hall and Hayward Gallery)

Free parking in the National Theatre car park (no step-free access on Sunday when the National Theatre building is closed) and APCOA Cornwall Road car park is available to Blue Badge holders

Reservations for groups of 10 or more people can be made by phoning our group line on 020 7960 4225 or by emailing groups@southbankcentre.co.uk

If you've already booked tickets, please check your booking confirmation for your starting location, or stop by the Welcome Hub on Level 2 of the Royal Festival Hall building to see where you’re meant to be

Adult supervision is required at all times with the following adult-to-student ratios:

1:5 for under 5s
1:10 for 6- to 11-year-olds
1:15 for 12- to 16-year-olds
1:20 for 16- to 18-year-olds

Queen Elizabeth Hall & Purcell Room

For access to Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer and Purcell Room please use Royal Festival Hall JCB glass lift to Level 2 and enter via Riverside Terrace

For access to Queen Elizabeth Hall auditorium seating row A and all wheelchair spaces please enter via the Artist Entrance in the Queen Elizabeth Hall slip road (Level 1)

For lift access to Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden please use the Roof Garden Lift in the Queen Elizabeth Hall slip road (Level 1)

Hayward Gallery

For gallery, foyer, cafe and shop, use JCB Glass Lift (Blue Side Foyers, Level 2, Royal Festival Hall) plus exit onto Riverside Terrace and use main entrance into Hayward Gallery

All floors are accessible from main foyer

Please use the main foyer lift to access the Gallery Cafe
