Initially launched in 2019, this live gig series is all about showcasing the best new British and international music, helping you find your next musical obsession. And if that wasn’t enough to get you down to our Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer, the fact that these regular gigs are free – yes free! – to attend should do the trick.

‘Bringing together artists who are pushing creative boundaries and eager audiences looking for the next new sound, futuretense will be home to some amazing future stars.’

Adem Holness, Head of Contemporary Music at Southbank Centre

On the futuretense roster this time round are a host of artists on the way up, many of them hailing from right here in London. And there’s no better way to get a flavour of what they’ll be bringing to our buildings than by listening to them. So with that in mind, our music programming assistant Edith Odame Kwakye has put together this playlist featuring a couple of tracks from each of our 2023 futuretense artists.

Like what you hear? Here’s when you can see each of these artists in our 2023 gigs series.
