Matthew Krishanu on his paintings of workers in Everyday Heroes

If you’ve been out in central London recently, you might have had the chance to spy our outdoor exhibition Everyday Heroes, emblazoned on the windows of our buildings.

In this video, we asked artist Matthew Krishanu about the thought processes behind the artworks he created for the exhibition.

Krishanu portrays a group of workers who make a big difference to their communities in troubled times: reverends, rabbis and chaplains. As he explains, these everyday heroes might be left out of discussions of ‘carers and nurses’, even though their contribution makes life much more bearable for those around them.
