Among the best known works of Margaret Atwood are the Booker Prize finalists Cat’s Eye, Alias Grace, and Oryx and Crake, the Booker Prize winning The Blind Assassin and The Testaments, and of course The Handmaid’s Tale.
In 2017, the year in which The Handmaid’s Tale gained fresh attention having begun its adaptation as a television series, the poet, essayist and author made an exclusive London appearance to join us here in our Royal Festival Hall.
In these highlights from that Southbank Centre appearance, Atwood reads from her most famous of work. And then, in conversation with journalist and Literary Director of the Booker Prize Foundation, Gaby Wood, she discusses not only her career, but the past, present and future of her best-known novel and the real world it reflects.
