At the end of 2019, Hessel, who is perhaps best known for running Instagram account The Great Women Artists, visited Hayward Gallery’s Bridget Riley exhibition, the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of the artist’s work to date. In this film, Hessel talks about what it is to view Riley’s works in person, and why she considers Bridget Riley to be one of the greatest artists of all-time.

Bridget Riley — organised by the National Galleries of Scotland in partnership with Hayward Gallery — was at Hayward Gallery from 23 October 2019 until 26 January 2020
