No More. Women on the front line of global movements

As part of WOW 2018 we welcomed women on the front line of global movements who are transforming the future by demanding 'No More’. No more violence. No more harassment. No more silence.

Joining us for this frank and inspiring discussion on taking a stand and making a difference were the artist, activist and co-founder of Black Lives Matter, Patrisse Khan-Cullors; pioneering feminist and founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, Laura Bates, and lawyer and founder of the publication Women in Leadership, Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu.

WOW 2018 | 'No More' with Patrisse Khan-Cullors, Laura Bates and Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu

In these video highlights we hear what led Bates and Khan-Cullors to establish their respective movements, and how the causes have continued to evolve in response to global and cultural events, from #MeToo to the presidency of Donald Trump.

Mainstream media was obsessed with black death, and the way we were able to get on TV was when someone black died and it went viral. Whereas the moments where we were experiencing black joy, where we were loving on each other and building community, that wasn’t newsworthy…. It’s important that we imagine black people living, thriving, and we imagine future and a present where black people can live our whole full selves.
