The Light in the Piazza comes to London

Florence; the summer of 1953. As American Margaret Johnson and her daughter Clara take a walk across on of the city’s many piazzas, a gust of wind whisks away Clara’s hat into the hands of local dreamer Fabrizio Naccarelli and that’s amore… But are things quite as simple as they seem?

Directed by multiple Olivier Award winner Daniel Evans, The Light in the Piazza is six-time Tony Award-winning musical about the life-changing thrill of first love.

In this short video the opera singer Renée Fleming, who plays Margaret Johnson, and the show’s composer and lyricist Adam Guettel explain what they love about the hit broadway musical, and why they’re looking forward to bringing it to London.
