Jo Quail’s cinematic performance at Robert Smith’s Meltdown

An internationally acclaimed composer and virtuoso cellist from London, Jo Quail is equally at home on stage solo or in collaboration. As part of Robert Smith’s Meltdown she performed two nights in Queen Elizabeth Hall as support for both Mono and Low.

This wasn’t Jo’s first time playing on our stage, and in this short video, featuring footage from her Meltdown performance, she recalls her last appearance at Southbank Centre and gives an introduction into what an audience can expect from her sound.

What is exciting for me is the response from these audiences who are used to big bands on stage and who love noise. They will listen, and they will engage.
