Sir William Sargent

Sir William Sargent is chairman and co-founder of the visual effects company Framestore, whose work has been recognised with three Oscars (as well as six nominations), 11 Primetime Emmys, and many major global creative awards, including the BAFTAs in film and television. Framestore combined with Company 3 in 2020 and Sargent is chair and CEO of the new group.

Sargent also served as chairman and CEO of Spitting Image. A key business advisor to the government, Sargent held the position of Permanent Secretary, Regulatory Reform at the Cabinet Office, and as board director of HM Treasury, council member at UKRI’s Innovate UK, Provost’s Council Trinity College, Dublin, and the Mayor of London’s Business Advisory Board.

Sargent received a CBE in 2004 and was knighted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2008. He is a fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts.
