Inclusion in Southbank Centre's own events programme is mostly by invitation only, but there are other routes to performance at our venues and joining in our programme of activities.

About our festivals & events programme

Southbank Centre was born out of the ideals of the 1951 Festival of Britain and festivals remain at the heart of all we do. We curate and produce exhibitions, installations, performances and events throughout the year, spanning a diverse range of subjects and art forms.

All our festivals contain free activities and events, and many have opportunities to take part in performances and workshops.

In addition to festivals, there is our annual events programme presented by our programmers of classical music, contemporary music, contemporary culture, dance and performance, visual arts and literature and spoken word.
