Montreal's fabled avant-garde outfit comes together in the beautiful Canadian woodlands for a performance film in our online broadcast.

Montreal's fabled avant-garde outfit comes together in the beautiful Canadian woodlands for a performance film in our online broadcast.

Bell Orchestre consists of six musical mavericks, including Arcade Fire members Sarah Neufeld and Richard Reed Parry.

Continuing to shift the boundaries of instrumental music, their highly anticipated new record House Music is released on Friday 19 March on Erased Tapes.

House Music brings to mind the legacies of improvisation-exploring greats like Talk Talk, The Orb, Bitches Brew-era Miles Davis and Ennio Morricone.

In their new album, Bell Orchestre captures the mysterious poetics of musical invention happening in real time.

Both the album and this visual counterpart, directed by band member Kaveh Nabatian, unfold as one long piece, a recorded-then-sculpted improvisation that expands their work, coalescing classical and electronic instrumentation in the creation of genre-defying musical worlds.

This event is pre-recorded exclusively for the Southbank Centre.

  • Michael Feuerstack Pedal steel guitar, keyboards, vocals
